Studies in the field of Information Sciences have led to the emergence of Information Systems, which are an integral part of business and organizations and indispensable tools for increasing the effectiveness of management and decision making. Information Systems include activities such as collecting, integrating, processing, distributing, storing organizational data and transforming it into cognition with intelligent techniques. Information Systems are used in a wide range of areas from banking to automotive industry, from health information systems to company management, from telecommunication systems to air transportation. In this respect, it is necessary to study and dominate the subjects of Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering and Business Administration.
The selection, implementation and use of information systems give companies a significant competitive advantage. In this respect, today's managers see information systems not as a support unit and cost element, but as an opportunity to increase market share, grow their business and / or form the basis of the business model. In our country, manpower is needed in the field of Information Systems Engineering.
The main subjects of Information Systems Engineering are Information Systems, Information Modeling and Design, Management Information Systems and Corporate Information Systems. Information systems focus on the use of information and communication technologies to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Topics of information systems are Designing, modeling, developing, projecting, adapting, changing management of information systems such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Systems, CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Systems, SCM (Supply Chain Management) Systems, BI (Business Intelligence) Tools , Decision making, Operations, Data Mining and Data Warehouses etc.
For this purpose, our Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences; within the Department of Information Systems and Information Systems Engineering undergraduate program in which engineering education will be provided in this field.
